BAND INTERVIEW: "Veiled Alpha"

The city of angels has been known to be the place to be for music. The best of the best have had their break there and that history breeds top tier up and coming bands, and one of them in the rock and metal genres is the quartet Veiled Alpha. Having a great response on their first singles “Traitor” and “Beauty”, their anticipated EP was finally released on February 20th. The band has been very active in the LA music scene and has had one hell of a start to this impressive project! We had the honor to catch up with them and ask them some questions!

What’s up guys! Thank you for taking some time to answer some questions for us! First off you guys are fairly new to the scene, how did all of you meet and decide to form Veiled Alpha? How did you land on the name “Veiled Alpha”

Veiled Alpha was formed in 2021 by our guitarist ‘Loody’. He met Tanner (Bassist) while both attending Musicians Institute. They conceived a band together in 2020, but due to the COVID outbreak the project was put on hold. Finally they found Matt (Drummer) and Jack (Vocalist) and completed the line up.

In 2021, Loody was watching videos about US Navy Seals, and he heard the word ‘Alpha Male’ from a video and thought that sounds great, So he came up with the band name ‘Veiled Alpha’ and we loved it.

Your first releases “Traitor” and “Beauty” got a lot of attention racking up about 45k streams collectively, were you expecting your songs to gain that much attention early on?
As of today, we have accumulated around 45k streams on Spotify, But we are not yet satisfied with that number. We want our music to be heard and discovered by people all over the world and from all walks of life. We know for a fact our music will change lives.

You just released your debut EP “Beyond The Mask”, how has the response been for being your first bigger release?
We have met lots of people after released our EP, and have gotten great feedback from many. Recently we played at Chain Reaction, which was a successful first show. We are super hyped with what’s coming up next.

Why did you land on the title being “Beyond The Mask”?

Everybody has their own thoughts and temptations. If there are 100 people, none of them have overlapped thoughts and temptations. That fact causes troubles and driving forces of the creation in a good way. But most of people hide their thoughts and inner temptations by putting on a kind of ‘mask’ to be a member of society.

‘Beyond The Mask’ means people’s essence beyond their mask.

Recently you’ve been playing shows in the LA area! Do you have any shows coming up?
We have a show coming up on March 11th, The Wacken Metal Battle. Also we have a show coming up on April 8th at the world famous Whiskey A GO GO! We’re looking for more opportunities to play as many shows as we can!

Now for some fun questions! If you could build a dream show line up… 5 bands total, Veiled Alpha opening the show, who do you got!
Immediately Ozzy, Pantera and Nirvana came up in my head. It could never be happened. So we can call it as a dream show.

Last question, it’s late and the show just ended… where are you going for food?
After we finished our recent show, We took out In N out, took and ate it in the Taco bell lol

Thank you so much for your time! Is there anything you want to plug?
We have released our new EP ‘Beyond The Mask’. This EP will be great for the people who are looking for Modern and Melodic Metal Music. Please support us on Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram if you like our music!

If you are a fan of immaculate vocals, guitar shredding, and impressive song writing than Veiled Alpha is a hidden gem for you. When you hear people say “support your local musicians, you never know who may be the next big thing”, They are talking about bands like this. Listening to their new EP, They have raised the bar in the local scene and sounds like they should be up there with the heavy hitters of the scene. It is rare to find a band that has an amazing sound right out of the gate but trust me, Veiled Alpha has it going on.
