PREMIERE: Maggie Jo - “All Of Me”
Las Vegas is an entertainment hotspot and is a paradise for performers and adrenaline. Looked at as a tourist destination, many people are unaware that Las Vegas has a booming music scene and up and coming artists. Maggie Jo is the newest rising artist emerging from Sin City itself and has released her first single titled “All Of Me” via boutique record label Dark Kingdom Records. ‘All Of Me’ is a lyrically vulnerable track that touches on escaping past relationships both with partners and substances.
“Tapping into an extremely wounded part of yourself, making art out of it, and putting it on display” - Maggie Jo
This debut track is one of the strongest first releases we’ve heard in quite awhile. While I hate to use this term, the scene right now is booming with “Female Fronted” acts and solo acts like Taylor Acorn, Spiritbox, Deadlands and so on. Bringing back the peak sound of Post-Hardcore mixing with modern production and structure, this track is an infectious song that will not leave your head. While having elements of the bands I listed earlier, It is it’s own unique vibe and something that stands out in the crowd instead of blending in. This song also features Michael Vampire of Vampires Everywhere! His addition gives a ‘Bring Me To Life’ vibe with the call and response within the chorus, Which whether they did it on purpose or not, throws back and pays homage to the other great female fronted emo rock act Evanescense
For this to be a first release, we here at GKE are blown away and can’t wait to see what is to come of this. Maggie Jo has laid a solid foundation with this first single and has a lot of options on which direction she could go musically. One thing is for sure though, she is here to capture your attention and is writing good heartfelt music that rocks rather than something clickbaity. Real music by a real artist. 10/10 release.
