SONG REVIEW: Adam’s Parade - “I Can See My House From Here”
Written by Jesse James Smith
Adam’s Parade has had a dominant place in the Aussie scene for a good number of years. Playing major festivals with legacy acts like Pantera and touring all over the world. I believe this song proves why. “I Can See My House From Here” is their brand new track and it is a certified ass beater, with what may be their heaviest track to date! We took a look at their single “Call The Captain” which was a mellow emo anthem. This is the exact opposite, but for some reason it fits perfectly. They’ve said one of their biggest influences is A Day To Remember, and this reminds me so much of a 2nd Sucks situation.
As the track kicks in, it kicks hard and fast. The fast bass drum build up sets the tone early and gives you that peak you need to prepare for what kind of song this is. In true easycore fashion, the heavy parts are still making me feel happy instead of inspiring my killer instinct. The upbeat and bouncy verse makes you want to jump along and energizes you. If you were here for the sing-along, don’t you worry. The chorus is heartfelt and tickles the emo itch. But suddenly they kick it up and start blending more traditional metalcore parts like a fast circle pit riff with faster paced drums. This seamless blend was what sold me honestly.
But the ending is where they took all the stereotypes and flipped them. As the song starts heavy, they end singing and leave you with emotions. This track I believe showed the band’s artistic range, showing the heavier side while also keeping the same vibe. One thing is for sure, I have no idea what is coming next. And I love that.
